Worst Mom Ever!!
Tori went to Italy for spring break. The teacher asked us to have the kids to the airport 2 hours early. I am not sure why San Antonio is not a busy flight and her first layover was in Atlanta. However we were at the airport exactly two hours early. It seemed that we were the last to arrive and some of Tori's friends were worried that she was going to miss the flight. They were looking all over for her. I was like we are TWO Hours early, how on Gods green earth was she going to miss the flight! She after waiting the full two hours made her flight with no problem. Her flight back was to arrive at 11:55pm on Sunday night. I figured I would get to the airport 15 minutes early so I could see her when she came to baggage claim. Well her flight came early it arrived at 11:20pm. I was just leaving the house for the airport. You guessed it I was the last parent to arrive. Every other parent met there kids at baggage claim and all her friends parents are asking Tori where is your Mom? I arrived at the airport at 11:36 and Tori was outside waiting already with her bag. She was so upset I was not there to meet her with the rest of the parents. I told her I arrived when I should have I could not help that her flight was way early. I guess i should have checked the status of the flight on line. So I am the mom who was not there to meet there kid after being gone for 9 days. I tell you Worst Mom Ever!!! The moral to my story be very very ridiculously early to the airport!!

Endurathon 2010

Pam, Jeremy and I ran a race on Sunday! It was a 15.5 mile race. You could do a relay or run the whole distance by yourself. Pam wanted to run in the relay and could not find a partner, so I decided to do the relay with her. I ran the first half and then walked and ran the second half with her. We got Third place in the Womens Master Group! I can not believe that I will be old enough this year to be considered a masters runner! Yikes! Jeremy decided to do the 15.5 miler as an individaul. He had never run more than six miles. He did really well. He was the only teenage boy running the whole thing, so he got 1st place! That made him really happy! Congratulations to Pam , this was her first time to win an award at a race. She was So excited! We had a lot of fun!

Happy New Years!
2009 -not sure how to describe it. Not a great year, but not a bad year either. I made resolutions and actually accomplished some of them! I always make a goal to get into better shape and I actually accomplished that one this year. Really wanted to qualify for boston marathon, ran Austin in February did not go so good and have not run another full since! Qualifying for Boston will be another goal for 2010 and I hope to do it in the Austin race in February. I have to conquer that course. I am wanting to run a marathon in all 50 states that goal will take a few years, last year I ran in Washington and Florida. This year I will do Alaska and not sure were else, possibly one in Arizona or Utah. Of course I always have goals to get organized, that never happens, but maybe one day.:) Here is a quick look at my Familys 2009...
Zig- he dyed his hair blonde, thought it looked funny at first but now I really like it. He started a company in Fort Worth, and was there half the week and half the week here. He went to Jamaica at Thanksgiving for a well deserved break. He made a label for Vodka. It is his goal to have it in the stores next year. He bought a pony for his business partners daughter for her birthday. Forgot to ask parents if it was okay, so we ended up with Charlie. We really like him, but it takes a lot of time to care for a pony and we do not have that kind of time. We found him a nice ranch to live on. It was fun for 3 weeks! He was asked to be a business consult to a big company in Fort Worth, so he will start that endeavor in January, looks like he will be in Fort Worth most of the time again this year. Oh well that is his job and it makes him happy!
Sally- I ran a race in January and place 3rd in my age group. It was a 15 miler, so I was excited to have placed! Ran the Austin Marathon if Feb. Ran my best time 4:14, so disappointed that I did not break the 4 hour mark. Could not bring my self to run another full marathon this year could not handle the disappointment. Sometimes I'm to hard on myself, will work on that this year! In March I got to go to Boston with Pam and Jeremy and check out Harvard. Had a great time. Saw finish line for Boston Marathon. It had a Turtle and a Hare. Loved it! April, I ran a half marathon in Austin. Ran my best time 1:56! Went to girls camp as camp director for our ward. Had a really good time. First time as the leader was very scared of my leadership abilities, but there is a leader in me after all! Ran a half marathon in Seattle, Wash. had torn ligaments but still broke 2 hours! Loved Seattle , had fun with Tori, Lauren and Dorothy. In August went to visit Emily in Idaho. Tori and I had lots of fun. I always forget how pretty Idaho is. We had fun picking Huckleberries in the mountains and going to the Sand dunes! In Sept. Ran texa's hardest half marathon with Pam. It Started at 10 am and was on a very hilly course. It was horrible, but had fun doing it! October I did the Nike women's marathon with my sisters, mom , aunt, cousin, and friends! So much fun and I ran my personal best time 1:55! November- ran San Antonio half marathon with Tori and Pam. It was a hot miserable day. Do not enjoy our marathon, maybe because it is in our home town. Pam , Tori and I also went to St. Petersburg, Fl. to do a half marathon, we drove there and it was a lot of fun. I forgot how much I like road trips. We also won a prize at the race, and got free crocs! December- I got to go visit Julia and Greg for Christmas! so much fun. Got to see Luana and scott also. I miss seeing my family all the time. Have to see you guys more this year!
Tori- Finished her Freshman year in High School! Ran her first half marathon and did 2 more! so proud of her!!! She went to regionals in Water Polo. She loves playing water polo and what a fun sport to watch. She had a boyfriend, and then she broke his heart. (that's my girl) Started her Sophmore year in high School. Not enjoying school as much, alot of homework and stress this year. But she is taking a lot of hard classes and think she is handling it pretty well. She took Psat and scored in the 93rd percentile in Math! Way to go, again so proud of her!!! She dyed her hair platinum blonde and cut it in a cute bob! I love her hair. She was not sure of the blonde at first, but now she loves it! She stayed very busy on facebook and hanging out with her friends, not so cool to hang out with mom anymore and I really miss that! She got her letterman's jacket in water polo. She loves it! Julia gave her her fist bloody nose! Tori was so proud she got one from playing Truth or dare. She is excited about turning Sixteen in 2010 and being able to date and drive a car!
What a year our family had! It is always nice to look back and realize it really was not such a bad year! I hope u all have a wonderful New Year!!!

Best Race Ever!!
Mom, Tori, Pam and I decided to run a race the weekend after the half marathon. It was an 8 mile race in a park in Comfort, Texas. I was not sure about running a race right after a half marathon, but our running group was hosting it, so I thought I had better do it. I decided I was going to take it easy and not really race it, but use it as a training run. At the start it was really cold. My legs felt like ice. I thought I was running an easy pace. When I got to the first mile I was running an 8:54 pace. It felt slow so I picked up my pace. I thought I was doing alright. Then the turn around was coming and I saw the first runner- a man and then a saw some more men. Then I finally saw a woman. I kept watching for more women and there were not any I got to the turn around and realized I was the second female. I was so excited. I have never been the 2nd female out of the whole race, sometimes in my age group, but never out of all the women. Then I passed Tori and she yelled at me "Mom you are in 2nd Place!" I was already excited and then I got really nervous. I was not sure how close the next female runner was to me. All I could think for the next 3 miles was that I could not let anyone pace me, I thought Tori would be disappointed if someone passed me. I ran as hard as I could. I did end up finishing 2nd out of 140 female runners and I was 1st in my age group, which I have never done before either. There were 27 runners in my age group. So I was really proud. I will probally never be 2nd again in a race, but it sure felt good. I felt like I was really a runner!! Tori finished third in her age group and mom finished 3rd in her age group. Our family did really well at the race! Dad also came and watched us run and got some pictures at the finish line. He missed me coming in because he fell asleep in the car! He did get pictures of mom and Tori!! Only thing disappointing about this race it that are medals were a duffle bag. A really small duffle bag. Mine was blue and Tori and Mom's were black.

Day 30 picture!
I have been working hard. I see a difference in my back fat! My stomach is a lot stronger. I am able to do pull-ups know. I can do push-ups that I thought I would never be able to do. I feel so much stronger when I am running also. Last weekend I was able to run an 8:46 pace for 11 miles! I was not even dead when I finished. I love this workout program. It is very hard, but I love it! I would recommend it to anyone, who wants to get strong and fit.

Sunrise 10K

Last weekend Mom and I got to do a 10k race with our running group. It was hot, humid, and hilly. In other words it was a miserable race. I hated every minute of it. It was my worst 10k race ever. I started to doubt my ability to do the half marathon in San Fransisco. Mom did fantastic! She walked a faster time than last year by quite a bit. She held a 15 minute pace! She finished second in her age group! Way to go Mom!! I found pictures on line of the race of myself, but there were none of mom. I need to start bringing my camera to these events.
